My tailgate is getting close to the paint stage after a good 30-40 hours of work. I finally gave up on hammering the metal as smooth as I wanted and resorted to filler in some places. Still, I think it will turn out okay in the end with a bit more work:

Don't think there is not a lot of body filler in it , there is.... only way you can get it straight.
It also helps That I have a body shop as well.
JD, your tailgate looks awesome, You should clearcoat it like that give it the rat rod look, I really wanted to do that to mine but....
