My new Mercury panel van! Empty My new Mercury panel van!

OK, I really didn't need another van but I was fed up to see it being used as a billboard! It felt like doing window shopping in the red district! I also liked all those shiny parts so I dropped a small pile of cash and got myself a cheap date Wink

Honestly, I bought it to take some parts and sell whatever I didn't want to help me recover from the purchase price but everytime I lay eyes on her I find it really hard to just rape her and call it a day. Yes, the floor is ugly, she's got an old diesel engine but the panels are decent and I'd love to one day drive a nice lowered Mercury panel... But (again) that takes time, money and space all of which I don't really have. I also have a sweet Travelwagon to restore first. Oh boy, if only I could find an old barn to hide her for a few years until I'd be ready to give her the love she deserve!

Anyway, still undecided but here she is. My new Canadian girl Very Happy

Ps. Anyone can decode the VIN plate? I don't even know what year she is...

By steering column support I would guess 61-62. The experts will jump in soon ,I'm sure. Looks like they might have changed the bumper though.

Agreed and no issues with those 65-67 bumper, they were the initial reason I bought the van... They will move onto my Travelwagon Smile

Cool, a Merc has got to pretty rare, worth saving to restore, we've all seen way worse starting points for floors and exterior....hey, at least you got a free pair of Visegrips and a vintage surfer foot in the deal, Happy New Year!

This is great! I'm curious, do you know what diesel is in it? Perkins maybe?

    Nice score!

    Thanks!

I'm not sure yet of the engine but I thought maybe an older Isuzu diesel engine. I still got to pick her up when I get some free time then I'll know more about her...
