Hey Donnie, I just read a post from you that indicates that there is no proportioning valve on my 67 ......But, I am pretty sure there is one on my 67 I will post some pics soon.

Don is right, the second gen has a distrabution block not a proportioning valve.

Istalling a proportioning vavle is a good idea but it has to be selected for what you are building.

So what are you building for a brake system?

You need a proportioning valve for disk brakes,,,,,,,drum brakes use a block to hold the switch for the brake warning light on the dash,,,,,,,,,

M1D, you and Donnie are awesome. I just assumed the block was a prop valve . I'm not building a system I am replacing all the origanal parts I found a block called a PV05 for a a Camaro that looks identical but they call it a proportioning valve. I guess the distrabution valve just lights the idiot in case the front or back system fails.

thats right,,,,there is a piston in that valve that monitors the front brake and rear brake line pressures,,,,if one pressure drops, it turns on the brake warning on the dash,,,,,,,,a proportioning valve looks exactly like it and does the same thing but it also has valves in it to modify the brake pressure to allow the rear drum and front disks to stop evenly, since they work on different pressures......
