Rear brake hose length ?

Why are there so many rear brake hose lengths for our A's ?
Napa list these lengths 20.25" / 17.5" / 15.75"
Rock Auto list 16.0" / 18.5"
I've even found a listing for right and left REAR brake hoses. Did the trucks ever have a right and left REAR brake hoses ?
My rig is a 64 pickup. I have not measured mine yet. But was gathering parts. What is the correct length for the center rear hose ??

,,,,on our Chevys,,,,,,,we put on braided hoses instead of the rubber ones when we want to show off,,,,, they come in all sizes,,,,,with standard aircraft fittings on them and you add the adapter fitting to connect it to your system,,,,,,

Jack the rear up so the suspension is at max travel. measure the distance from the line fitting to the rear axle fitting with a little extra added in, better to error long than short.

most of the time they were d100's
but over the years confusion set in, this is why you will
see parts for the a100 and you know that won't fit or work,
