What Vancouver are you at?
It will be helpfull to describe "something finished" do you mean $50.000 ready for Baret jackson Auction? I have seen vans for sale the owner believes is finished with asking prices from $4000 to $20000 US dollars and higher. I know its not a good policy to state how much you have to spend but what is out there is all over the map price and quality wise.

Re: 64-66 g van wanted
If the owner in Vancouver was wise, he would take $10,000 for that van. He is too high. Make him an offer and let him know you plan to make the interior more to your taste.
For all that money, it's still a manual. For $12,000, if you go that high, it better not need anything.
My two cents.

Re: 64-66 g van wanted
I don't think its overpriced.
Actually 'finishing' one of these vans takes a huge investment of time, money and effort.
With everything involved, $15k is actually a very reasonable price.
If you want to pay less, get a running/driving 'fixer-upper' and finish it yourself.
I am considering selling my '65 Hella Sunshine, but I can tell you I will be asking alot for than $15k for it

Re: 64-66 g van wanted
If it's really 'as advertised', it's a steal. No doubt he has a pile more than the 15 grand in it. Some comments about the fact that it may not be an automatic...no clutch pedal kinda says it all.
If this is the style you're looking for, and he's near you, then grab it. Personally, I like the funky interior. You won't build your own for the price he's asking, and shopping for something that's just cheaper, will get you just that: A cheap job.
