Back in the day......Sunroofs, vents etc. were installed with a big pile of that putty tape AND THEY LEAKED! Those ribs are down, so I would fill them up to level at the sealing surface with a mold-able product like body filler or Marine Tex epoxy, which I've found to stick WAY better than polyester filler....It's a way easier dilemma than on the rear of a Chevy where the ribs are up and you cross 4 of them....I also vote for the smaller sunroof as the only alternative to extensive bodywork for a leak-free seal!
