Trying to get my speedometer working... I just detached the speedometer from the trans and the speedometer gear looks like it's in good shape, but the rod inside the speedometer cable was broken off. The question I have is what length speedometer cable should I get as a replacement? The ones I'm finding online are 120" http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/p/atp-speedometer-cable-y-863/15610018-P?searchTerm=speedometer+, but the cable I have in my van is 126".

Re: Speedometer Cable?
I've actually just ordered up one of those ATP's, same exact model #.
The 120" reaches the cluster comfortably, just barely though.
I'll go out and check with my other cluster in a sec to see how the fitment is. I think it fits, however my speedo is shite. =D

Re: Speedometer Cable?
Thanks for the info Xelmon. I ordered the Y-863 cable too. I figured I'd try it out and see if it would work. And if it didn't I'd at least be able to let folks here know. And yes, please let me know if you have a chance to test the fitment.

Re: Speedometer Cable?
Ah, you posted since!
Back to confirm that indeed it fits fine. 3 spd -> cluster, and 200R4 -> cluster too.
As I said, it just fits. You had to run it through just the right areas so you didn't clip things.

Re: Speedometer Cable?
Thats great! I'll let you know how it goes for me.
Btw, you wouldn't happen to know if the speedometer gear for your 3 speed has 25 teeth would you?

Re: Speedometer Cable?
Update: The ATP Y-863 120" Speedometer cable I ordered arrived and I was able to swap it out without any issues. F.Y.I. this ATP cable isn't pre lubed. It comes with a little packet of grease which could easily get missed if you weren't looking for it!
My speedometer reading is a little jumpy though. Is this typical? Or maybe my speedometer gear is worn/not correct? Anyone here have a similar issue?
