friend told me where to look and sure enough a 66...I think its called a display van...panel on drivers side window on other...no pics as yet as the old gentleman wants to clean it out...can someone tell me what the original purpose of the display van was? my old one was a panel...dudley

The service companies could put shelving for inventory and tools on the drivers side and light could come through the windows on the passenger 's side.

story is it was an old Army van with seats in the back...it has a very small metal roof vent like I've never seen...? I'll try to get some pics later.

My 67 also has a vent on top. I thought the previous owner might have done it, but maybe not. My van also has a panel on the driver side and windows on the passenger side.

if it was factory they may have used the same vent door as under the dash. they did a lot of that.

Those are the exact same vents that I have. You push the bar to the front to open the front of the vent, or push it back to open the back of it. I run with the front one upen to push air in and then back one to let air out.

Those vents were popular in semi trucks. I've always called them sleeper vents.
