    Observations Empty Observations

Post by oldgoalie Fri Nov 07, 2014 9:33 am

Now that I am getting a little older. Much closer to 60 than I am to 50. Here are some things I noticed about working on my projects.

    1. what you think is going to take 1 hour will take 3
    2. the days are shorter than they used to be
    3. what you think is going to cost 50 bucks will cost 100
    4. it would really pay to be left handed some times
    5. I am not near as flexible as I used to be
    6. it is hard to decide if I should look through the bi focal or over the top of my glasses
    7. there is no such thing as to much light
    8. one small job on a project will lead to 3 big ones
    9. after working a full day on my van it takes me 2 day to recoup

I am sure there are many more but at my age it is hard to remember everything.......
or anything as far as that goes

You nailed it! I keep a pair of bifocals and regular reading glasses all the time. slip the readers on when putting on the welding helmet.

I'll be 60 next month and wish I had a lift. Getting up off the floor is getting harder every day.

I have two bulging discs which makes my back ache whenever I bend over to work on my van.

I like this thread, makes me feel young. Im turning 40 next month and no issues yet, knock on wood except for a few loose screws.

We aren't supposed to arrive in heaven with perfect bodies, we should slide in sideways bent and broken, and say "whew what a ride". As long as I can wake up and not see flowers and candles around my bed, I can say it will be a good day. I earned every ache and pain I've got, but its like that old saying "if I had known I was going to live this long, I would have taken better care of myself" You young guys, listen up, just because you can, doesn't mean you should.
