A couple weeks ago, I reported that I tried to burn my Van up. I'm not any more sure today, than then, what caused the fire. Everything fuel wise was pretty new. But it was a fuel fire. But after replaceing everything Rubber, plastic, wiring, distributor cap, fuel pump, coolent overflow bottle, and valve covers....The old girl is back on the road. It cleaned up pretty good.Really cant tell it burned up at all. Took it around the block a couple times last night. Tonight I'm gonna clean her up real good and drive it to work.
( it's about a 100 mile round trip) That should be a decent test for it. Oh! it also has a new shinny fire extinguisher mounted real close. Thanks for the support. Big John

Nice you got it back in working order!
I was thinking of your story yesterday when I took my van to the shop. I was driving down the freeway when it dawned on me that I forgot my fire extinguisher...I'll have it with me when I pick it up for sure.

took it out tonight for a pretty good ride. I have a home made engine cover, needed to make it, to cover up the V 8. Well I cleaned it up pretty good but when it got hot under the hood, you could smell the burnt stink emanating from the dog house. I'm going to put up with it this fall so I can drive it around awhile. this winter I will need to build another one. Are you ever really done with these things. lol
