    Generator's Empty Generator's

Post by weirdbeard Tue Sep 09, 2014 8:34 pm

I currently have a generator on my 170 engine in my Econo and wanted to know what kind of output it has.  Can it handle running new headlights, radio, maybe a tv and dvd player all while the engine is running of coarse.  This as compared to converting to an alternator. No sense in more work if the old generator can handle the tasks at hand.  I am not looking to updrade to AC.  Your help is much appreciated.

I can't answer the original question, but I upgraded to the two wire alternator that Donivan is always endorsing ($35) and besides a little bracket modding, it was a quick and easy 1 day swap. Now I can handle any and every component I add. New stereo and running lights are first things on that list.
