    My speedo cable crapped out on me several months ago... so I've been getting infinity miles/gallon lol.

    Anyways I got a new speedo cable from NAPA.  i traced the cable back to this... I see a small hex head... do I just loosen the hex and pull the cable from the trans and insert the new one in and run it up... or am I skipping important steps?

    -that worked for me, but I used a good used cable instead of a new one

    Are you sure it is a bad cable? Small plastic gear at the transmission may be bad.

    If the speedo needle jumps around, you might just need to lubricate the cable. Pull the center cable out, grease it, then slip it back in.
