Re: Just For Fun
mo's got it going on. one of those three sided rulers i believe. also looks like the tops off two valve stems where the locks hold the retainer. if i'm right you just spent a bucket of cash to repair something engine related.

Re: Just For Fun
BZZZT ,,, Wrong. It's in a chevy V8, It's not in the top of the engine. And it is a very critical piece of a component.

Re: Just For Fun
We have a winner !! Mcfly with oil pump shaft.
I found these pieces in the oil pan of my V8 when i took it off, it is not however from the pump that was in it, soooo I am totally tearin this engine apart . I have lost all confidence in the person who put it together last time.
It wasn't me btw. lol , from what I have seen so far , it mostly just needs a thorough at home overhaul, It had chromemoly rings put in it last time and they never really seated, Personally I dont like hard rings on an old bore anyway. Just another obstacle to overcome on the way.

Re: Just For Fun
Reminds me of finding a nut stuck in oil pan sludge when I opened my 67's 250 six up some years back. It was a nut for the piston cap, but all were in place, so that extra nut was in there for many years and luckily it never met with any moving parts.
