GotaVan's cast rings, pure?

A couple of years ago I bought a set of his headlight and tail light cast trim rings. I've had them polished however one of them is kinda pitted. They are going to try to fill the pitting with copper (maybe brass, i can't remember what the said) before chrome plating them. But the plater wants to know if these are ONLY aluminum or if there is any other material in these. I don't know why but they want to know. Anybody know? I've PM'd Dan but I kinda need to give the plater an answer asap.

Knowing and seeing how Dan does this I'd say pure. But it would be possible to have a very very small amount of impurity. It is a home grown set up sorta.

Dan has been working 7 days a week lately. I ran into him almost by chance at the DMV today after work.

He's been busy for quite some time now.

i bought a set a few months ago and after sanding them in several different stages they buffed out like a mirror! look great!. i'd say if there are a few pits just keep sanding evenly and then buff out.

Well, after having them polished, some copper fill work and chrome plating...they are pretty good. The tails and the driver side headlight are good enough for me. But the pass side headlight trim turned out bad, so many pits. I need to find another one. Is GotaVan even around anymore?
I'm at work but i'll put up a few pics later when i get home.
