duane, fred sold his navy truck to a local guy who took the cool paint off and primed it ?! I would have bought it if I was on the econo band wagon a little earlier

    Duane,
I sold it a couple of years ago after owning it for over 30 years. Still in RI. Running but not completed yet. Original color was blue but the Navy painted it green metal flake, squadron color. It still had the squadron insignias and lettering on the gate when I bought it. Fred

What a cool piece of history. I was a LSE (landing signalman enlisted) in the Navy. The poor bastard that stood UNDER the helicopter and let the pilot know how close he was to the superstructure:)

The Dragonslayer history has many distinguished highlights. The squadron played a leading role in astronaut recovery operations during the Gemini missions, plucking from the sea such famed astronauts as White, McDivitt, Lovell, and Aldrin.

Project Gemini was the second human spaceflight program of NASA, the civilian space agency of the United States government. Project Gemini was conducted between projects Mercury and Apollo, with ten manned flights occurring in 1965 and 1966.

This could very well have been involved in the Gemini program, wow.

I bought my truck Feb 2, set up a delivery with Montway Auto Transport, they called me 12 days later and said for another $250 they have a guy that will move it. I told them to shove it up their bait and switch asses. They even had the b's to ask me why. I said because I don't want to get a call in another 12 days saying you need $299 to get it from FL to MN.

Now I am with DAS and it will be in there hands 30 days on MON.

I have used MJR Transport , Glendale AZ several times with no problems. From AZ to RI, flat tires ,non running, $1000.00, less then 10 days each time.

I used ASG( Automotive Service Group) out of the pacific northwest and got it loaded in 48 hours from my call and $950 later and got it 4 days after that. I went with Tucker Logistics first and they did absolutely nothing! From long Beach to Northwest indiana in 4 days was pretty good I thought. Then I found out the trucker lives within a mile from me! You could of went to Lodi and got it yourself by now!

Well.................what a frustrating experience. I have sat home 3 weekends in a row having been told my truck would arrive on 3 saturdays. Somehow, between Chicago and Minneapolis the ignition switch is broken and something is wrong with the linkage. I may be doing my first 66 econoline linkage work in the street. In the snow and slush gutter river in front of my house. Whoo Hoo! Neutral

Oh, and after having my vuck for a month, I will be charged a storage fee if it has to sit there.  scratch

The mover has said they will "discuss" compensating me for the late arrival after I have received the vuck.

Looks real nice! The linkage is usually an easy fix, most likely just jammed.
Sure your happy to have it home. Good luck
