Re: name that van
The Dodge ‘Telecom’ van started its life in 1960 as the Commer 1500 FC. Used all over Britain as Telecom vans in 1960.
Original is at Dodge Spacevan / Telecom Van (Commer PA and PB vans, Dodge K-series)

Re: name that van
In Australia they were used by our combined Post Office and Telephone Company (we only had 1 phone company in the whole Country!)
Many were converted into Motor Homes due to their internal space.
My Dad built motor homes for a few years and I fitted quite a few crash bars to the front of these when I was 12 or 13.
They had some cool features, such as the spare wheels was located on one side of the van in a swing down rack that was held up by an "over centre"" catch.
We never had the sliding door model out here and only the petrol (gas) van, no utes or floats.
They drove quite well but woe betide anyone who likes to park by ear as the front wheels were so far in you could hit poles on the side of the road if you weren't careful.

Re: name that van
What, you don't like the steering wheel on the passenger's side?

Re: name that van
I'll guess Tempo Matador.
Early one's VW powered front wheel drive mid 50's.
Later ones had an Austin engine still fwd.

Re: name that van
I still had to look it up to be sure ! Something like that would be a riot to re-do. Be kinda spooky having the Tanker part integral to the cab ?
