I saw this in a field in Ramona CA...anyone know what it is?



Damned if I could figure it out, and I didn't feel comfortable waltzin' up and knockin' on the door...

Hopefully one of our European members can help.

It appears a bit too big for German or French origins.

Looks like a Mercedes to me !!!!!

It's got very similar lines to a VW, but some differences too.
Windshield, side body line, door cut line and rear wheelwell are fairly close.
Front wheelwell, nose (could be added) A-pillar, rear door glass frame and door handle are off.

As the picture shows, it's been sitting there a while, and will probably be there ten years from now. Too bad, it looks interesting and would probably be a pretty cool old camper.

I was leaving a car show with my 21 year old daughter and saw it. When I pulled over to take the picture my daughter said, and I quote, "Dad, do not ask about that. Mom would make you live in it if you brought it home!"

I think she's right...

Mercedes L319 would be by best guess.
