Post by Guest Thu Sep 05, 2013 5:37 am

Hi, I'm wilco from the netherlands. I'm sorry if my english is not correct. I just bought a 66 supervan, heavy duty suspension with a 240 in it, its my daily driver. It's my second econoline, currently i'm restauring a 64 window van.
I've read some posts and found out you have the same problems I have with the vans, gearbox, turnsignalcam, sheetmetal, fuel gage etc..
I'm one of a few driving a 61-67 econoline in holland and it's a real head turner here!!!

Welcome to  VV,,,,  lots of good help here,,,  just post your issues and some one will help.
Getting stuck in a gear is a real common issue with ours if you are having an issue there? Hopefully if that is the problem??   it may be as easy as correctly adjusting the shift rods. I speciallize in the steering columns and can help if you need it.

    thanks for the welcom guys.
vic, I'm thinking about rebuilding my shifter colum, I have my own machine shop so I'm able to make new bushes and stuff. if I need any help I know where to find you.
the linkage from the clutch just broke off (the long bar to the front), a friend towed me to my shop and I made a stronger one. fixed in an hour. that's the glamour of an old car:D

Thats a COMMON issue... I replace all of it with 5/16th fine thread hyme joint bearing ends and get rid of its stupid design. The clutch pedal already has a hole in it,, and I weld a bolt in there with only solid shank in contact with the bearing,, threads on top of course to hold it in place. Same with both parts of the bell crank and then 5/15th course threads on the adjustment nut. That way there are bearing ends on every moving part... duh,, of course also the 5/16th rod replaced from front to back,, need to rush off and sounds like I need to put Mom back in ER again,,, its not good..
