As some may know, 1970 A-100's use a totally different wheel cylinder than 64-69 models. They use the same cylinders as 1971/72 B-vans. The problem has been finding front brake hoses for the 1970 models. 1971/72 B-van hoses are too short. The threads are 3/8-24, whereas the earlier style cylinders are 7/16-20 threads. A-vans use front hoses that are approx. 14-16 inches long depending on brand and/or part number used. (Bendix 88224 are 14" long, Raybestos BH35018 are 16" long)
I had a 70 A-van and ran into this problem I ended up swapping in a set of 69 backing plates so I could use the wheel cylinders and front hoses for that year.
I think I may have found a solution. Early Ford front brake hoses may work as they have 3/8-24 threads at the wheel cylinder end and are approx. 18" long (which may or may not be too long for the A-vans...I don't know). Somebody needs to be the guinea pig.
The Bendix P/N is 88284 and the NAPA P/N is UP11146
