I love hammocks. I think a hammock or bean bag would be awesome for camping in the van especially with a memory foam mattress covering the whole floor.

Since they say you need a 'bench seat', install one of these:

That could work. Slots for seat belts too

Just to keep you up to date, Scotty loaned me his back seat out of a 70 van. Since he was nice enough to let me borrow it I cut the stock brackets off and made it fit the early G floor.
DMV said it must be bolted.
That should get me by.
Thanks all for the suggestions.

Here in DC you gotta have seats bolted in and seat belts AND glass all the way around OR they consider it "Commercial". To be commercial in this socialist (oh, pardon me, Progressive) town is like bending over without a kiss. Anyway, borrowing one is the way to go and I wish I had one to give you.
Good luck, I'm with you in spirit of freedom anyway.

I hope it did. I have to resister mine still also and just mounted the seat today. i welded up some little mounts that seem to do the job quite well.

I was just wondering what the negatives of it being reg as a commercial veh rather than a pass veh were. I may be wrong but wouldn't it be better to be reg as commercial ? doesnt that allow you to park in loading/yellow zones if you just want to run inside of a store or were there drawbacks to being reg that way?

Just curios. Why worry about commercial or not. my tags would only be 6 dollars less if i was to go with non commercial tags in my 64

I'd been lagging on my posts lately. Glad your registration went through. Cool seat brackets they look clean.
I chose to go passenger van cause I was going to have to start my paperwork over at the dmv and get it weighed. Then the registration went from $70 a year to $180
Everyone's location are different. DMV in California is crazy.
