Behind Closed Doors!!!!
I am looking for some inspiration for my interior paneling/flooring/headliner/bed. Can you post some pictures of what you've done? If you've got it, flaunt it!

Re: Behind Closed Doors!!!!
Too tall to crouch-walk, those wood floors look nice, but my knees wouldn't live.
I'm trying to come up with a concept that is clean, retro and functional, but also does not look like a corporate van conversion. Tough to meet all those goals. Especially if your budget is not high.
It WILL be more than cheap wood panels on the sides/roof and shag floor!

Re: Behind Closed Doors!!!!
Im woth you Rod, Thats why I wanted a tall top!!! I HATE the floor ribs on my knees! The interior section is my favorite here. Mines getting temporary carpet this weekend. Blue left over chunk from when my mortuary put in new carpet haha! I like black better (obviously) but blue will do for now. After all...the van started out blue too!
Ive almost got the ingredients ready for my interior (walls and floor only so far). I LOVE thinking outside the box so Im sure you guys will get a crack up out of what I will use for my interior parts.
Surging Guy! What style are you going for? Camper? Bare bones? Just some basic seats and walls?
Retro? there are tons of ideas my friend. Give us a direction and maybe we can find you more direct inspiration.

I am all over the board at this point. I do like the all wooded look, but ultimately camping will be the goal. Originally, I was thinking maybe a carpet kit like the following toward the back quarter...
I'd like to see some options for flooring and panel walls. Shag's cool looking too...I guess that is why I started this thread...maybe bits and pieces of several vanners' ideas.

Re: Behind Closed Doors!!!!
Rod i have a throw carpet that covers the entire wood floor that's how i can haul the tent/tables cooler, grill and such to and from a muddy van nats , also i also enjoy working with wood, The couch folds down to a bed and gives a ton of room to haul more when the couch is up,And the cabinet in the center section comes right out.as well spin off 4 wing nuts and the couch is removeable as well

Re: Behind Closed Doors!!!!
That has been one of the high lights of these vans for the last 50 years is the interior. The way that they are done is just amazing. Gives me some ideas when i get to that point. Thanks Ken

Re: Behind Closed Doors!!!!
I have mentioned it before, but I managed to find paneling that was over 8" long at a mobile home supply yard. It really made it easy to do the sides and roof without corner trim. Just something to look for.

Re: Behind Closed Doors!!!!
I wish I would have seen this BEFORE I bought my wood! However, things are moving right along nonetheless...3/4" thick rubber insallation covered with 1/4" birtch wood...Digz wrote:I have mentioned it before, but I managed to find paneling that was over 8" long at a mobile home supply yard. Re: Behind Closed Doors!!!!
As long as it's comfortable and easy to keep clean, I say GoforIt! That'll look good with the Birch paneling as well!

Re: Behind Closed Doors!!!!
Love the portholes! Nice nautical theme inside throughout! Reminds me of Joe Van's interior in StowAway!

THANKS PAUL. .. That's when Conversion vans were Custom Built not like today.. They just put some luan and felt up and through some seats in it and you pick what colour you want.!!!!!. There is very few words to describe this ( DODGE STREAKER VAN ) one or two that comes to mind is Incredible,Unbelievable, I would LOVE to own this TIME WARP its one of the best Examples of a unmolested low mile 70's Custom Van I have ever seen. ..

Dodger, where did you get that insulation from? Was it self-adhering? Thanks in advance for more info.
