3 on the tree, slant 6. Driving in second gear and the lever slowly drops until it pops into neutral. I can hold the lever up to keep it in gear, but let go and it makes the move to neutral. Is this a linkage issue or a tranny issue? I'm in new territory with the three on the tree, so any thoughts on a remedy would be helpful. Everything else is ok shifting wise. Thanks.

trans
I would say a transmission issue. There should be a spring loaded detent inside the trans to hold it in place.

It could be linkage issue not going ALL the way into gear.
