A100 Fargo Wanted Empty A100 Fargo Wanted

Post by coprinoid Fri May 17, 2013 10:44 pm

    Hey all!

Here's my sob story...bought a straight-bodied, sweet '69 Dodge Sportsman in 2002 for $600.00, gutted it, saved up money, ready to purchase and replace all running parts, full restore by...2005, welcome my daughter into the world...have to move...leave van behind...unfinished...it sells and ships to Michigan for $4000 as is....!!!

Fast forward, to today...I am back in the market for a project A-100, preferably 8-door, windowed...slant 6 225 is the desired spec. Fargo is again the preference, but just want to get my hands dirty again! And come out with a clean ride. I greatly appreciate any leads!

    I've got a window 8-door, but it's a V8 auto and a Dodge.
Oh, and it's in the middle of a roof swap and in AZ!

Why not track down the FARGO badges and buy a DODGE.

DODGES are pretty common so your choice is wider plus you can select a better body as most FARGO's will have lived ina real harsh environment.

I've found FARGO parts on Kijiki (or whatever it's called).

If you do what I did and approach some one selling a rusty FARGO you may get them to sell you the badges off it to fit to a better bodied DODGE.

There's an "F" off the front of a FARGO on eBay at rhe momemt for under $40.00. The DOGE "O" would work at apinch so you're chasing an A, R & G.

Somehow...I don't know how...I found an 8 door 1969 windowed shorty 4 hours away! I own it now. It came with 8 extra doors, and a pop top camper, (not installed). 727, 318...everything I could have asked for...I still do not quite know how I did that...but so stoked! pictures soon.

Drove it from Newberg, Oregon south to Ashland, its a champ! It was well used by a family as a camping van, so it got to run regularly...I am ready to duck outta work and take it mushroom hunting!

So, what do you do with the Inky Caps once you find them? I was enticed by your username to read up a little on them. Sounds like they're not that easy to find because some only last a few hours??? Are you a researcher or just an Inky Cap enthusiast?

A100 Fargo Wanted Empty She lied about her age....

Post by coprinoid Mon May 27, 2013 10:16 am

After doing a bit of research, it turns out she isn't a '69...but still just as pretty...but she lied about her age...surprise surprise...haha! She's a '64 or '65 Dodge A100 Campwagon...(not converted, but with parts)

I also got a box full of badges, an extra headlamp, a nice metal interior fan (not connected), the variable speed wipers, brights and windshield fluid pump both work. Brakes need some love...engine digs in when needed...

This is going to be fun!

    Pictures, as promised...

Nice looking camper! Yea, brakes and any other safety issues first! Looks like you've got a nice solid van there. I like the color combo too. Congrats Exclamation

Had me fooled to Dix. Looked at the pics again and it looks like it's just strapped to the roof right now. Also looks like he's trying to sell it from another thread he has started.
