How to tell 64 from 65 from 66?

64 says chevy van behind front doors,,,5 slot grille,,,,,VIN begins with 4,,,,,should have year etched on glass.....2 latches on doghouse.....

Wow that one has parts from alot of years, looks like 68-69 front doors. Looks like a 65 to me, no backup lights????

it is a late 65 or a 66 and someome stole the doors of a 68 - 70 model,,,,,do you have rear or side windows,,,what does it say on them?

haha, no I'm just curious on how I tell them apart. Mines a 65,pretty sure. As of now I can tell a 64 from the front and 66 from the back. That Van I found on the net listed as a 64.

white vans side markers are from a 1972 chev truck. I dont think vans uses same .? those markers are available from most every truck repop-seller. 1967 chev & gmc vans were the only ones that were 2nd.gen ones that did not =use any side markers. side markers started in 1968 -up model years .
remember 1967 years all vehicles were made by us govy- to use dual master cyls& 1968 up side markers-all safety requirements.

Those side markers are from a pickup, but are the same size as our vans markers. The reflexors from a 71-96 van will also fit our vans

I can be corrected on this but from the outside I don't think you will see a difference between a 64 and an early 65. I have both and what I see is the 64 has the horizontal braces between the ribs and a big chunk of cast iron at the rear gas tank seat. later 65 and 66 ( I have both) only difference I can see are the back up lights on the 66 and the placement of the side badging being on the door of the 66. Don may have a line on this next thing. The front leaf spring eye on the pass. side? Is it just larger on the 66?

My vin starts with 5p its a 65 right because title says 66 and has no reverse lights. better score for me

im going to reg it today to put title in my name im not waiting till ready to drive might get lost in the sauce most likly what happened with title already. well at least i dont need a title and vin plate just every thing else.
