Hey, guys, I'm trying to find an aftermarket steering wheel boss (40 spline) to mount a 14" wooden Moto-lita. Got any ideas?

pick up the phone & call grant industries. They will know as they have made wheel adapters since time began.

their sales person was clueless and wouldn't entertain me talking to a technical person, either. Since it explicitly calls out 61-67 pick-up except econolines in the catalog, they wouldn't help. They referred me to Momo.

So does anyone know the diameter of the shaft, is it tapered or straight. Am I at least correct in the # of splines (40)?

Grant makes an adapter that will work on the Econo. P/N 4257 but you will have to use a external horn button. Hope this helps.

I counted mine and does have 40 slines. No mesureable taper. calipers show .680 dia @ the outside edge of the splines. .630 dia inside.

I ended up purchasing a Branda shelby steering boss (a bit expensive). It fit great and the motolita steering wheel bolted on with no problem.
