    Hi all.
    Will a front axle from a 64 fit a 66?
    Thanks

There are two types of front axles but they can be swapped. The difference is the type of king pin and some linkage changes in the 67. The difference in the axle is that the later style is threaded for grease caps and uses a shorter pin. I think the spindles are all the same but not sure. I'm not sure if the 64 has the later style axle. If it has grease fittings above and below the pin it is the later/ better style.

    Thanks for the info guy!
I'll take a look at my axle, and look at the photos of the new one .
I need to do my king pins. I think the best way is get a good axle, and work on that one.

Sounds good! I'm sure there is a "how to" posted here somewhere. I'm not sure how easy it is to find the spindle bolt set but, in my opion, it is easier to have a machine shop fit the new bushings, as they are undersize in the kit. Also, the old pins are pinned with a tapered pin so keep that in mind and good luck getting those 50 year old pins out! It usually requires a press and lots of heat.
    Good luck!
