Dodge Standard Truck vs Fargo? Empty Dodge Standard Truck vs Fargo?

Post by DanTheVanMan Wed Jan 21, 2009 12:53 pm

I love my Chevy 1st Gen to no end but have to say I have been drooling over Hemi A-100's Fargo since I first laid eyes on it. Not being a Dodge guy I have to ask. What's the difference between a Standard Dodge Truck/Van and a Fargo? What makes it a Fargo? Just trying to educate myself on all the earlies Ford's, Dodge's and well as the Chevy's.

    Thanks,
    Dan

I'm pretty sure the only differants are the emblems. I think the Fargo elblem even fits into the dodge emblem holes. And I have to agree seeing HemiA100 pickup makes me want one too. You should see it up close.

    FYI
DODGE = American division of Dodge

FARGO = Canadian division of Dodge (CANUCK TRUCK & hard-to-find-emblems!)

For all that I've been told the parts are the same also Smile

That's some good looking truck..........no doubt!!! Cool

Here's a wrinkle... My Fargo was made in Michigan...

Dodge Standard Truck vs Fargo? P9060008

I'm pretty sure there were Dodges sold up here too... my Fargo has a Chrysler tag I wonder if the Dodges have Dodge-specific tags. Maybe Fargos were for export only? Maybe other Chrysler trucks were built in Canada, and so exported A100s were branded similarly?

Wonder if Fargo and Dodge VINs are intertwined?

for the same reason there was plymouth.fargo's were to please the corperate and political masters of the country.saski's vin plate is interesting seeing that it was built and tagged a fargo, but built in michigan, but if i'm not mistaken all a's were built in the us.if you have a 6 in the fourth place in your vin its a canuck truck. remember when we had datsuns, now all we have are nissans run by the same bunch in japan.

Fargo VIN's are unique. I believe later on, some A's were built at the Windsor, Ontario plant as well. Also..Fargo A-100 pickups did not have FARGO stamped in the tailgate like Dodges did. They simply had decals.

    Mike...is your speedo in Kilometers?
