There is not "Other things wanted to buy" section so thought this might be the best place.
Back in the 60s/70s my mom and dad had a 1958 Dodge Town Wagon. They used it to travel the country and I spent a couple of my first years in that beast. They sold it in 1979 but dad has missed ever since it was gone.
My dad was diagnosed with the big C last year, a tumor the size of a pingpong ball on his kidney. He refused to get cut open or do any kind of kemo/radiation. They decided on a freeze treatment. they go in Ortho and freeze the tumor, thaw it, freeze it, and it was supposed to break up. He had the procedure done just after Thanksgiving and it all went well. He has some side effects that I hope will go away with time. His back is still numb around the area where the procedure was done and he has a "Mass" in his abdomen that they say is the fluid and such from stuff breaking up.
My folks came down mid December and left a week ago to go back home to ND. While here dad helped me pull the 350/700R4 from the 3rd Gen, we rebuilt the 350, pulled the 250/TH350 from the 66 and installed the 350/700R4. It was great working with him and he was saying how much he missed working on a vintage vehicle.
We restored a 1967 Chevelle 2 door hard top I had bought for $34 back in 1989 and my brother 1964 Dodge Cornette 440 2 Door hardtop that he got for $21, but it has been YEARS since we have had anything like that to work on.
For all of my dad's help, not just with the van but his whole life, my brother and sister and I want to find them a 1957-58 Dodge Town Wagon. Doesnt need to run or even have the motor tranny. Would prefer if the rust wasnt the only thing keeping it together. I know this isnt a Chevy or even a van, but many of you see stuff for sale either in fields or hear from friends of friends, etc. Nothing restored, they cost WAY beyond a budget in that condition.
Thanks in advance
