    Post by neondv8 Tue Dec 25, 2012 3:31 pm

Iv had the new window seals in for 3 months now. Every time it rains, or I wash the van I get black drip line. Iv tryed to scrub the seals but no luck!
Has this ever happened to anyone and how did you fix it?
    Thanks

I just had mine put in a few months back, and haven't noticed anything yet. My windshield is new and is a couple mm thicker then original and my seal fits tight. Prior to the snow it didn't leak when it rained. So I hope mine is good. Haven't tried a car wash yet. affraid

Hey guys, where did you get your seals?
I see a couple of different places and prices listed about.
As this is something I will need to do in the near future (Both front and rear)I want to make sure I get good seals.

    Thanks

Neon; Inside the van or outside? Inside I would reccomend taking it back to the place you got them installed and asking them, outside... MAYBE your new rubber is decomposing somehow? That kind of black dripping line thing happens with really old dry rubber sometimes, but Ive never seen it with new. Question

My back door seals are from Dennis Carpenter, the front window seal is from a different place. I will have to call the guys that put it in for me after the new year. They do restoration work and buy their seals from this other place as well. I think precision rubber co. or something like that. I will call next week and find out. Again mine was tight and fit perfectly. The new windshield is 2 mm thicker over stock, and I believe came from germany. As for the rear doors I haven't put those ones in yet as I am waiting for new glass to come in.
