Spent the day Saturday at Mecum Auction in KC. Awesome cars. Watched a couple of 1971 Mach 1 Twisters sell for $140k each back to back, with a matching 2011 Mach 1 Twister follow for 80k.

It's mind blowing how much money is spent at these auctions. And I sit there griping about my $7 beer.
Anyway, I am a sucker for the unusual stuff, and this 1956 Ford Country Sedan caught my eye. It has a surfboard rack on top. The bid went to around 26k but didn't sell.
Watched as a dad bought his college age son a 1973 Dodge Challenger 500HP for $30k. Yellow with black stripes. Just an awesome car. His dad had a Mizzou shirt on, (yellow and black school colors), and I watched later as the kid drove it out of the building.
Sheesh, I was in my 72' Beetle freezing my ass off waiting for the heater to warm up.
The buy of the day was a 1994 Bentley, just really nice. It sold for $14,500. A restored Gremlin sold for more! 19k!
Oh well, it was a fun day.
