    Van Insurance Empty Van Insurance

Post by Guest Mon Jan 12, 2009 7:43 am

I have my van insured through a company but it's a bit pricey. Does anyone know what insurance company I can use to insure it as an antique/classic/custom? Or, does anyone know a less expensive insurance company that I can try just for regular insurance? I am in Illinois.
    Thanks! Rolling Eyes

I just have Min. coverage on my 66 through Allstate and it runs me $128 and listed as REC. Veh. Again you still need to have at least one "Daily Driver" with them as well.

I'm with State Farm and have pretty low rates for all my vehicles. And with the farm I can cut my coverage down to just comprehensive during the winter when it's just sitting and waiting for Spring... 15 bucks for those 6 months!

There's Grundy and Hagerty which insure classics, but your limited on the use of your vehicle and most of these type of companies require them to be under roof.

I personally am with GEICO and they're pretty reasonable and I can drive as much as I want.

I just have liability on the older vans, but I would imagine you could get full coverage if you wanted to. Not sure on that one.

USAA signed me right up, no problem with the age of the van.

They just had to dig around for the original purchase price for that type of vehicle.

My van is a 68 GMC g1500 Panel

They matched it to a 68 GMC Custom Van, and said the going price in 1968 was $2700.

If your having trouble getting insured, or want to get a quote from USAA, just send me an email address and I will send the invitation from the website.

And, before you ask.. NO, I don't sell insurance.. Very Happy

I had geico and they don't insure our old vans for full value. For instance my 65 they said they would only pay book on it even though it is worth far more than book Haggarty charges $222.00 a year and it is insured for $20,000.00 and that is full coverage, $100,000.00-$300,000.00, $500.00 deductible.

    NEWS FLASH!

State Farm does classic insurance and WILL insure your van for agreed value.

I know as I just switched to them about a month ago. Insured it for 5K.

    GREAT PRICE TOO!
