I don't own a van yet myself. I hope to in the next year or so.
I come from a family of classic car owners and right now I'm the black sheep for not having one. My father has a 55 Olds and a 49 Olds convertable. My uncles have various Fords and my cousins are pretty diverse. I've wanted a 69 Charger for as long as I can remember, but lately I've been more serious about getting a classic for myself. Charger's are too expensive, and I don't really need to go that fast, so I got started thinking about getting another van. My first car was a 79 Plymouth Arrow pickup. I've owned 2 Dodge vans (an 80 something Caravan and a full size 97 Dodge conversion van with all the bells and whistles).
I've helped work on my dad's cars a bit. I've worked on my own cars some. I worked on my step-father's Peterbilt some too. So, I have some mechanical knowledge; enough to get myself into trouble with a Chilton's book. I'm hoping to get something that's got a good body, but could use some mechanical work. I need a new project.
Ideally, I'll find myself a '64 Dodge A-100 camper, panel van, or display van. I'd be happy with a mid-60's Ford Econoline as well.
So, that's what I'm up to here.
