Re: CARB PROBLEM MAYBE
Thats life,,,,,if you own a Vintage Van,,,,,that exhaust manifold gets HOT,,,,heat rises,,,the carburetor has no emission controls on it to capture the gas fumes from all that heat so they just drop down into the carburetor,,,,so what we do is add a little fan on the bellypan or under the floor with a 60 minute ceiling fan twist timer on it,,,,so,,,,when you shut off the engine, turn the fan on,,,it cools the doghouse and blows out the fumes,,,the van starts easy again,,,,no gas smell,,,,the doghouse is cooler and that means you are cooler,,,,if the coolant temperature starts going up on the road,,,turn the fan on to cool it down,,,,I would never leave home without my fan,,,,,,
