There's a gap between the top of the radiator and the radiator core support/dog box lid. Is there a reason for this, like encouraging air flow over the engine, to the carb, etc? I was thinking of blocking this off for aesthetics and encouraging more air to flow through the radiator.

Re: Air flow over the radiator
A friend of mine recently did that on his 68 GMC Van and it seemed to help with the flow to the rad! He also ran a cold air intake in front of the rad as well as you can see from the photo!

Re: Air flow over the radiator
I'm planning on a cold air intake as well, but I wasn't sure if I needed to leave the gap/space so that air could flow over the negine as well. Things get pretty hot in there!

Re: Air flow over the radiator
Does that tube go down to the bottom??? I was thinking just having the tube just to keep the doghouse area cooler and stopping hot starts
