1972 RV fresh farm pick!
Found this baby after looking for about two years, this was mad in Pamona, lived its whole life just a few miles from where it was made, and i bought it with less than 45k miles in San Bernardino, mos of the systems work (A/C 3k gen, water system cruise control, front a/c 351 clevelad with a RV cam runs like a champ) I will be restoring this but not like a full restro, what ever works stays if it doesnt it gets replaced, the outside will be painted, were looking for a useable RV for a decent cost with some retro flair, paid 700.00 for the unit and charged the battery and drove it home 85 miles![img][/img]

Re: 1972 RV fresh farm pick!
It is a single wheel, Lazy Daze 19 or 16 I believe,1-1/2 ton rear suspensoin c351 with a c4 behind it, realy it just needs the roof resealed and the cabinetry refinished and its pretty much ready to go camp in, ofcourse thats never going to be enough, but its a good start and while I have fun surfing San O in the mornings and refinishing the interior during the afternoons!

Re: 1972 RV fresh farm pick!
700.00 for the grill? Wow!
I spent some time with her yesterday and got the gen fired up she puts out 2.98kw no problem, and runs like a champ, after looking at the windings I doubt it has more than 40 hours on it total, changed the oil cleaned the carb, added fuel dilter and small engine fuel pump, she started right up!!
CF Ill get some as I start to work in there, at the moment Im going through all the working systems, I really want to get thr fridge and roof a/c online, so far its all been cleaning and changing fluids, nothing is really in bad shape at all.

Re: 1972 RV fresh farm pick!
Ok here are a few shots the interior is pretty complete just old and neglected. I removed the curtains devider door and some of the ceiling in the front overhead area before the pics, there is some dry rot in the front passanger side top, looks like there was some water a long time ago, so it has to be removed and replaced, most of the rest just needs to be refinished, its old but wood is wood and this looks to be a nice mohagany under what ever that paper crap was[img][/img][img][/img][img][/img]

Re: 1972 RV fresh farm pick!
The plan at this point is to restore al systems to working condtion, refinish the cabinets, replace the ceiling, (after resealing the roof) I want to add a Holly Projection and a billet electronic distributor, and a much quieter exhaust system (this thing has glass packs and sounds like a lowrider going up a hill, hate that sound) going with a three chambered directional muffler probably flowmaster with the projection two barrel and proper back pressure this clevland will pull any hill!!

Re: 1972 RV fresh farm pick!
Ok I started on the interior this weekend, and a bit of tinkering, the roof A/C is online, plug in power works well, as does the generator, I havent checked out the heater or the water heater yet, or the water system, but probably like the others just anned a bit of cleaning and the small broken parts replaced..
The interior will be the existing wood refinished but left a bit rough the wood has lots of character and I dont want to change that, the hardwars will be replaced by stainless, the flooring will be removed and new light color roll vinyl will replace that, and the celing will be replaced with melamine, this should really lighten up the interior.

Re: 1972 RV fresh farm pick!
I'd like to see this project progress. Some of our early campers need some interior work and that information will cross-over. Besides, its a cool camper.

Re: 1972 RV fresh farm pick!
it’s not an early (62-67 ford)… but it is vintage and van based.... I’m interested in the project. I’m sure it will fit in the “Early-enough” category.

It seems to me that a few members here have campers and enjoy camping so maybe we should have a section for Campers???

Re: 1972 RV fresh farm pick!
,,,,I am sitting in my motorhome right now,in a driveway,,,,in Chicago,,,,2300 miles from home writing this,,,,I LOVE this motorhome,,,,HOWEVER,,,I don't like tripping over a 1972 model, that has nothing to do with a Vintage 1961 model,,,,thats why the site was set up,,,,to have a place for our Vintage Vans,,, THE ORIGINALS,,,to hang out,,,,there are sites for everything,,,,,,but we take into consideration other types of vehicles in our Early Enough Section,,,,I just don't like that a 72 is taking up space where we should be reading about an Early van,,,,I have no problem with it being here,,,,just put it with the other new vehicles,,,,,
