    Bad vibrations Empty Bad vibrations

My van vibrates with a 250 six and TH 350 vibrates at idle in drive or reverse, it is good and smooth in park or neutral and under acceleration. Its really annoying as anything that can rattle or shake makes noise. Where should I start looking?

Do you mean a bushing inside the transmission?

I would bring it to a very good trans diognostic person for an oppinion.

What you descride could be a torque converter issue since "at idle" while under load of first or reverse the torque converter inner parts are at maximume speed differential. IE the trans imput shaft is held at a stop and the rest of the torque converter is doing engine idle speed. At no other time is the speed difference between torque converter parts greater.

how fast is the idle rpm in drive or reverse?
and how old are you motor mounts? [not broken, just
old and stiff not letting it flex].

When it is rattling, take the air cleaner off and spray some carburetor cleaner down the carburetor and see if that changes the noise,,,,,,
