    Hi,
I'm new to the forum but have been lurking for a bit.
I'm in the market for a van and came across this.
    What do you guys think?
    Thanks

Just check it out for any rust issues & check the engine & trans out for leaks, skips, knocking, smoking & so on. I would also want to take it for a good test drive to check it for any overheating, vibrating, check out the steering & handling. It looks good in the pics but sometimes pics can be deceiving.

The exhaust system will need to be replaced so I would factor that in on my offer. I wouldn't go no more than $4500

Yea I figured that they did. People play on eBay to much they don't never intend on paying for the vehicle or once the see it in person they change their mind. He shouldn't expect th get $5100 for it since that's what it sold on eBay for. I would just remind him of the winning bidder bailing on him. There are a lot of econoline vans listed in the E vans for sale section on here so if you don't get this one I am sure that you will find one eventually.

^^^I second this...If you end up not striking a deal, I would recommend looking for something out here (Im in Phoenix az) and shipping it back east. I come across rust free vans and trucks, running, for 2-4k all the time. Getting something rust free off the bat is a huge head start on these old vans and worth the shipping headache a lot of the time.

Yes this van has some rust issues that will cost some money to repair even if it's just in that one spot. I would also look under the carpet for any rust issues to. I also would consider 1964 - 1970 Chevy or GMC van to.

    Wow... tough crowd!

That rust spot wouldn't scare me, but I'm curious why the seller wouldn't fix the rust and dents... that van looks like it's in fine factory shape!

Well it would be pretty high to start out at $5300 or any where close to that to immediately have to replace the complete exaust system then have the rust issues repaired. I would just about bet that that is not the only rust issues it has either.

I'm guessing since it's all original he didn't fix it to show what it has even if it is rust. Besides, a no reserve auction is ballsy unless he either inherited it or got it real cheap. If that's the case, why would you put money into it if you're going to flip it for quick cash.

That thing is all there and has a lot of nice original details. That interior is going to be hard to beat, especially in the 2-4K price range.

I'm wondering about the VIN . I thought the super vans started with E16. Something fishy going on, or I need more educating. Probably the latter. Rolling Eyes

No fish, but you do get partial credit. Very Happy

E16 is the extended van, but not for Falcons.

E12 is the Falcon Custom Club Wagon.

This was probably a E124, which is the extended version of the Falcon Custom Club Wagon.
    Built in July 1967.

I wish they had posted the entire VIN plate data.

Now I see they did post a pic of the data plate.

The E125 is a Heavy-Duty version, which means thicker frame, stiffer springs.

    The color is Lunar Green.

And the A7 rear axle code is indeed a 3:1 Equalock limited-slip axle with 8.75" gears. Nice!
