Front Sway Bar Links
I'm in need of new front swaybar links, does anyone have a part number and or vender where I can order them? The local NAPA store didn't have anything listed. Thanks

Re: Front Sway Bar Links
I think the auto parts stores sell universal sets in red urethane. The bolts are a little larger in diameter but they should work. The same company sells swaybar bushing kits.

Thanks donivan, unfortunately none of those are right. mine are an eyelet bolt that mounts with the shock bolt on the opposite side of the axle.

Re: Front Sway Bar Links
You can buy them easily from Summit. The lower mounts are listed as hourglass, and are actually shock mounts. Here are the part numbers. The upper body mount ones also have grease fittings for them.

My truck never had a sway bar. I have one to put on it, can someone post a pic of how it mounts?

Re: Front Sway Bar Links
I understand that the straight end of the piece in the picture goes through the eye in the end of the sway bar, what does the eye end of it attach to on the axel? there doesn't appear to be anything to mount it to

Thanks, the shock bolt is what I was looking for. I got a call from 66Thundervan a few minutes ago confirming that is what I was looking for.

Re: Front Sway Bar Links
Whats needed is some kind of magic trick to remove the bolts that these things mount to. I had to drill one of them out of my 67 axle... not much fun!...Just wish there was some was to get the bolt loose out of there, I tried heat, penetrating oil, impact guns..nothing worked but drilling it out.

Re: Front Sway Bar Links
My Bad,,,,Didn't have one with a shock bolt, and the other person asking was asking where the frame mount bolted to.
As the shock bolt only goes in one spot, I figured that one would be pretty obvious, but now that you bring it up,, the shock in its stock location ( as it will not go correctly on the wrong side anyways), and if you bolt in the sway bar, the link will only go on the other side of the axle...thus the longer bolt,,,
NOTE: The washers are special ones, as the ID for the bolt and the OD of the washers are not your generic types at the local hdw store. Get a larger OD thick one, and drill the hole out and it will cover the bushing better.
Be careful looking for the bolts also, don't make the mistake of threads supporting any bushings, will act like a file and tear em up,, ALWAYS support anything with a smooth shank of the bolt. Cut the end off if they stick out too far, if you have to, I do it all the time.
Regards to a new "link" and not the bushings,,, Moog sells them, I have a bunch of used ones, you can weld an old shock center bolt to make one, or modify a GENII one.
