So far "Woolsey" is using up the surplus parts from the "parts vans" and keeping the local Napa guys going for a brake system and king pins to start with. I got lucky on the king pins, started on the "hard" side first, and did the heat and beat for 45 minutes, only took 10 minutes to beat the other side out with no heat. More pics tomorrow after work. She is going to run and drive to Bakers but will be the "rust" wagon.

The years Baker's PROJECT
The weather is finally cooperating here so I can get going on this years Baker's project. The $250 rust wagon from Woolsey GA.

Those A-100's, as all vintage vans and trucks, look cool in ANY condition. Good luck with that project!! Joel

Re: The years Baker's PROJECT
Dix... that is the '68 108 travco that is about 60% ready, I have to pull a BFD in the right front that had 1 1/2" of bond in it. Thinking of trying to weld bolts on in different spots and use a slide hammer to pull the nose out, I think our sheet metal is to tough to use a stud gun on, and trying to re-skin one of these is next to impossible. Might still get the van done this year, but the mechanical work on the pickup is easier for me than the body work. The '67 pickup is in front of the van with part of the right side cut off so I can fix the floor and put apatch panel in. If I get frustrated on one I walk away and work on one of the others.

Re: The years Baker's PROJECT
Got a little carried away today and cut the corner off. After talking about how to do the nose on the other pickup, and taking apart a donor to see what it takes figured I' d practice on this one while I'm doing the floor.
have to cut out the piece of red around the air box yet to square up the patch. Have to quit about 9:30 so the neighbors don't complain about the noise.
22days left till Baker's, Ya think I'm gonna make it??

Re: The years Baker's PROJECT
...there looks to be a lot of work that needs to accomplished in just 22 days. I think it's going to be close. But hey where would the challenge be if it wasn't close. I'd keep the coffee brewing for those all nighters.

The "patina" will still be on the outside, but the cab will be water tight for the first time in years.

Re: The years Baker's PROJECT
Got it in, of course I changed my mind half way through and decided to replace the piece with the lettering. It was dented and I couldn't get it worked out. Just need to grind the welds in the morning and make the small piece of floor.
Have to order a dogleg for the right side, but in the mean time I'm going to patch the fender to the step and spot weld it. Not to bad for a day and half, I don't think I would make any money as a body man though

2 more nose jobs, the Right front of the 108 earlier in this topic that is 60% ready for paint has a BIG dent above the headlight that had 1 1/2" thick bond, and the left front corner of the '67 pickup from the corner to the "D" in dodge

Got all the brake lines and fuel system replaced today, so it's time to drop the drive train in tomorrow. Had to re-use the vent hose with the 45 and 90 again, anyone have a line on a part number and supplier for this hose???
