My portholes need sealing Empty My portholes need sealing

Post by NipRing Fri Mar 30, 2012 12:45 pm

I dont know when they were installed, but over the years people have been trying to keep water out by smearing black caulk or whatever along the edges of the port window gaskets. I spent last night scraping them off and buffing the windows to take out all the scratches. Now they look great but i'm sure they will leak like crazy. Is there any recommended 3M sealant that stays clear and flexible I can use?

    Thanks

yes, if you can R&R and use rubber butyl tape, you should be good.

I'll get a few pictures of my windows up tomorrow. Been busy with a carb change.
