If you are talking about the nuts with the cotter pins in them, then they need dust caps and grease in them to protect the wheel bearings,,,,,,

You finished the brake job and you can still see the nut and hopefully the cotter pin to keep the nut on? There are metal covers. Hubcaps are not dust covers.
