Re: 1973 ford transit connect?
The front end looks pretty neat, a mix between a mini cooper and ford van sort of. I'm guessing by the front license plate, it was originally a european ford? Its crazy with those dual wheels.

Re: 1973 ford transit connect?
We had Transit vans in Australia, still do but they don't look anything like that now.
Quite a few ended up with 302 and 351 FOrd V8's between the front wheels.
You could get them in short and long wheelbase with single or dual wheels. The single wheel version didn't have the bolt on rear wheel arches.
An intersting fact on them is when they were released they were the getaway vehicle of choice for armed holdups in the UK. They could do 80MPH in the '70's when most English cars wheezed their way to 70MPH.

Re: 1973 ford transit connect?
We missed out on the El Camino's and Ford Ranchers.
We only had around 250 Mustangs sold here by Ford back in 1966!
Almost every US made vehicle on the raods here was privately imported then the steering wheel swapped to the right hand side so it could be registered.

Re: 1973 ford transit connect?
Aussie law mandates all vehicles right hand steer?
I have read rather strict on camper/trailers as well.

Re: 1973 ford transit connect?
All vehicles in Australia are RHD unless over 30 years old (covers Mustangs etc) or special purpose vehicles like garbage trucks.
We have a thrivng industry converting LHD vehicles to RHD.
