Wonder what it would be like .. When you walk into brothers truck lmc or were ever .. You walk in and they Have Parts for your Truck ... They have a catalog .. or you just point and Click .. What if our Van Parts were that Easy ... if you could just get new stuff .. instead of searching Junk yards E-Bay .. or how ever you Find your parts ... Being able to get nice new repop Parts ... instead of worn out stuff you have to rebuild before you can ever put them on your van !!!! Some would say that's half the fun of being a Van owner ... But those truck guys have it made !!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: What Would it be Like ........
Well I am pretty sure we have all had that dream. But in some cases dreams do come true. When I had my 53 ford half ton back when I was in high school, it started to develop an over heating problem which later turned into a coolant running up the front windshield problem..lol. I got my mom to drive me to canadian tire where I talked to the parts jockey there and asked him if they still stocked a water pump for a flat head 8. His hysterical laugh still haunts me. But an old guy behind the counter said to the young man who was assisting me, and I quote..." go get that big box that we use for a step stool for reaching the fan belts, and bring it here". And low and behold here were 2 brand new water pumps in this box. I said I would take both and keep one for a spare. The old guy just chuckled and said " you will need both, that engine has dual water pumps". I learned something new that day. Don't talk to the young guns..look for the old guy, he remembers the day....True story.

[iStill that way with the auto parts stores. The new stores are all on computers. No one usually knows anything about anything that is not in / shown in the computers. Find an older autoparts (i use Napa) and stay with them. They also have the old books that show the older parts we deal with on our vans & cars . Remember =the new parts guys havent had the experience in autos that most of us van owners have had. The only reason ill go to a newer autoparts place is to have them test one of the newer cars parts that may be bad - we cant tell about. Ignition system parts usually & the computer sensors. Thats the main reason all my cars & vans have "collector Plates" on them too - never a lisence plate renewal fee here in wa . state!! Happy Vannin
