    Wiper Blades Empty Wiper Blades

    Post by 68DodgeVan Wed Oct 12, 2011 6:50 pm

I'm trying to find replacement wiper blades for my A108. My arms are in great shape, but the rubber on the actual blades is shot. I was told to look for Anco wiper blades, part number 31-16. Those were available at the local parts store, but were more than just the rubber blades. It was the whole wiper assembly, excluding the actual arm, and it was made out of black plastic. I was hoping to keep the windshield wipers looking stock, instead of having a big black modern wiper blade assembly on the front windows. Any tips??

Try looking for a blade that you can harvest just the rubber blade itself and put that into your old stainless arm(I presume it's stainles or chrome). I also found that with a new 16 inch metal blade I could remove the rubber blade with its metal slide that houses the rubber blade and slide it right into my old ford blades without removing the rubber blade itself. I can't seem to post a pic...I'll keep trying.

new"old" wiper..Wiper Blades Wipers10..This is just one that I had done. The ones on my van are the proper size to fit the 16 inch blade without the ends hanging out. So basically measure your blades and go pick out 2 metal blades and take what you need to put into your originals.

Thanks Big W. I figured I was going to have to do something like that. Mine are 16" and I know they have those readily available at the local parts store. I appreciate your tips and pics.

You need to look for 31-16 'R' which is just the rubber portion. I got mine from Oreiley's for like $6.

that would be much easier to just get the rubbers. I remember being able to get them no problem at the local parts store, but that was about 8 years ago.

I bought mine about 2 months ago and that was the part number I used (31-16R). The R stands for refill, which is what you are looking for.

Glad to see that your parts are still available. Buying replacements would certainly be the way to go...and when that's no longer an option, at least you no there are alternatives. Glad I could offer an alternative.....Happy Vanning

So I finally got it figured it out. The guys at Napa were able to track down the refills for me. They were Napa "Exact Fit" refill blades part number 60-1612. The slid in perfectly to fit my original parts. Thanks to all who gave me suggestions. Hopefully this will help many others in the future.
