What was your first vehicle?
Like the title says, I'm curious as to what your first vehicle was. My first was a 1986 Pontiac Firebird. I bought it when I was 17 and it had a 2.8l v6 with a 5 speed. I had a lot of fun with it and hated selling it. The v6 had plenty of power for me, I could slide the rear as sideways as I wanted to and straighten back out and just go. With the limited slip in it I could lay a patch of rubber and tire smoke as long as i wanted to. It didn't go very fast but I still liked it . I had a nice sound system in it that would rattle everything in a 2 block radius lol. I had her for 5 years and then got into Fords and haven't turned back yet. So what was your first?

Re: What was your first vehicle?
1983 Honda Prelude, then owned a 91 Prelude followed by a 98 Prelude. Great driving, fun yet reliable vehicles. All were manual. Never owned an auto until getting an SUV for practical purposes. Finally sold my 91 Prelude about a year ago and got an Acura TL, 6 speed, 240 h.p. Wanted the Type S with more horses, but couldn't spend the extra money. It scoots for an upscale vehicle. None were tuned. Just stock and no stupid, coffee can, loud mufflers.
I told the wife that if I was selling my youthful car (which started looking like a beater) I was going to get a manual "practical" car. I may be an adult but I don't want to give up my fun.

Gold '66 Olds Vista Cruiser (kind of like the one on "That 70's Show).
Small V8, power glide and drum brakes.
Mom wouldn't let me drive it solo for the longest month ever.
Several months later came the '69 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham...

Re: What was your first vehicle?
My senior year in high school I bought a 10-year old 1968 Mustang with a 289.
I bought a 1965 Econo shorty right after high school for $100 (on the left in my photo). From then on I knew I was vanner. Then I bought a 1965 Supervan (blue one in the middle), then the 1964 Heavy Duty (on the right). I still have the 1964.

Re: What was your first vehicle?
I grew up in south Florida and when I turned 15 I got a 1971 Honda SL100 to scoot to school and ride around till a Florida State trooper was day dreaming and plowed into the back of it while I was stopped at a traffic light, but that was ok I replaced it with a 1972 Yamaha 175 endoro (wish I still had it). My first vehicle with 4 wheels was a 69 Pontiac Firebird.

Re: What was your first vehicle?
1977 Datsun Pickup. Had as many colors as it did body panels! When I first got it it ran on 2 cylinders. I could drive around a country block and by the time I got back to the starting point I could still see the blue haze left from when I went the other direction. Did a quick in-frame (measuring nothing, just slapped it together with new standard sized rings and bearings) and drove it for pretty much all of high school. I got it when I was 15. The floors were 'repaired' with pop-riveted galvanized ditch gates borrowed from across town. I stuck some bucket seats in it from a 90's Charger my brother parted out. Had some big a$$ speaker boxes behind the seats for some crappy subs and rode like I was the man. Knees in the dash and all.
Ahhh those were the days.....
