    Hershey.... Empty Hershey....

Post by mcfly Fri Sep 23, 2011 7:03 am

Going to Hershey for the first time... Not really looking for anything specific just going to experience the event ... Maybe pickup some garage jewelry ..

Anyone else been there or going...?
    What should I expect...?
    Any suggestions?

From what I am told it is older stuff(pre 60s) but some newer things have been showing up the last few years..

Also heard it makes Carlisle look like a yard sale...

hi, I have been going to the fall meet since 1972, this may be my last year according to my wife. Be prepared to walk and all weather conditions. It's all on pavement. I have spaces in the Chocolate field. I used to buy pedal cars, motorcycles, and bicycles. Now I sell castings and junk. One year about 12 years ago I bought a car out there. I had to rent a trailer to haul it home. I have seen several vanners there over the years. Dennis Carpenter has a big tent and there are lots more (Steele Rubber, restoration specialties, etc.)

That is what I hear...I am going for four days so hopefully there will be some nice days ... My buddy told me if we move along at a good clip three day should be enough to see the swap area but I figured 1 more for the car corral

It's about 640 miles one way from my house. I drive a motorhome out there we usually drive straight through takes about 14 hours. It's a trip...
