Hello all. Anyone here use their A van to hall bikes. If so i would be interested to see how you secure them. I was considering installing some tie down hooks but have yet to find a decent pair.

Re: Motorcycle van
I haven't done it, but I guess if you are going to haul bikes a lot...you might consider building a frame inside the van.

Re: Motorcycle van
I've hauled one in my B, but not the A's.
If you want something permanent, you can install hooks in the floor.
If you want something a bit less intrusive CHEAP, try placing a 2X12 along the front of the space with the hooks through it. This can also support the front wheel (maybe a couple 2X4s on each side to locate) and could be easily removed.
For a real nice setup, consider fabricating something like this for the inside. Either removable or permanent.

Re: Motorcycle van
Bikes like bicycles or bikes like motorcycles? I don't think my FL would fit in my van, maybe if you had drag bars on it.

Re: Motorcycle van
probably because the FL IS the size of an A100:). I was looking more for a clean flush mount d-ring (or whatever you call those things on the rails of truck beds)to attach tye downs to for track motorcycles.

Re: Motorcycle van
Flush mount D rings are found at RV and trailer supply shops. They require cutting holes and having a strong backer. You also need 2 in front, 2 in back for each bike, since you aren't talking about a way to keep the front wheel locked. Take a look at the link I posted, it could be made from metal or if this is a bucks down deal, wood.

Re: Motorcycle van
If I ever finish my van I want to put a couple of my old skool minibikes in the back ( Bonanza, Rupp,Cat,Bird) to take to car - van shows, and show off. Of course they don't weight much so probably some small hooks.

Re: Motorcycle van
Unless you already have them, be prepared to pay!
They have a following, and they are even reproducing Bonanzas and the Tacos, but they are not cheap.
