I have been looking at the best way to do this for awhile. i was told to use Astro van hinges and latches and weather stripping but i didn't like those hinges at all and the weather stripping just didn't look right. I looked at after market rubber and didn't care much for it either so I went back to Pick A Part today and looked at hatch back windows and lo and behold found the perfect weather stripping for the window on Ford Explorers and they are about 6" to long so it will work perfect. Also noticed that they had a piece of rubber on the top edge of the window to help it seal better so I will use that too. $4.50 for what I needed and it was in like new condition. I also found that the Explorer hinges will work better than the Astro hinges but I still want to look at some Jeep hinges before I decide what I want to use. I have the chrome latches off of a Dodge van that should work well. Actually I got four of them in case I decide to make the window pop out on top and bottom. I think that would be cool and different. I'll post pics when I do the install.

I had to resurrect this post to find out more about installing a pop out back window on an econoline pickup.
Has anyone completed this project successfully?

I believe that I've see an econoline pickup at Baker's when I attended a couple years ago. I would have to believe that it would be a simple task using stock pop-out window latches and gasket material, the glass would possibly have to be cut a little oversized and holes drilled for the hinges and latches but it should work. Just my two cent thought on it. Scott...

This is Doug Shin's truck. This was done with Astro hinges and latches. He had the glass custom cut and tempered. Nice.

I've been thinking about this or a sliding rear window but the slider will probably have to be custom too.
