    With few exceptions,the newer cars look the same in a wind tunnel. If someone removed all the emblems from the cars in a parking lot, I for one would not know what most of them were.
    There are three basic types though, they either look like;
    A) a computer mouse.
    B) athletic shoe.
    C) the box athletic shoes come in. (exception of the wind tunnel rule) Laughing

    Esso sign 1953

    Sold this bad boy at our estate sale today. It belonged to a former employee whose daughter believes he got it when Esso changed over to Humble Oil. Sweet sign in great shape. Rare to see around here. Also sold a smaller Esso dealer sign.

    Local car show at the service place we take the wife's '87 convertible. It was for any convertible or bike but had more vintage Mercedes than anything else. The Charger was bad to the bone. All original in terms of factory setup other than the engine and hood and AR wheels.

    Not a big show but a nice time involving a shared passion.

    My father-in-law just sold his completely factory, never wrecked, unrestored, not a crack in the interior, perfect black vinyl (OG) top, close to flawless (OG) racing green metallic...I think that's the name of the color, 426 Hemi car. I repeat, all original, unrestored. He picked it up for pennies off a guy who was gonna lose it in a divorce in 1980.

    He sold it back to the old fella he bought it from recently. He agreed to give him first dibs back in 1980. I won't tell you how much he let it go for, but it went back to the man who loved it first....my F-i-L could've have made a good profit off of it. He didn't. A handshake still means a lot to some people out there, and my F-i-L is one of them...so am I.

    Here's a pic of it in his front yard just before he put it on the hauler to take it to FL, where the old fella lives now. I shot the pic for posterity sake.

    I'd like to have a sweet 356. The next addition to the fleet may be a Porsche 911 with an LS1 in the a$$ end of it. I dig hybrids...need to finds a good roller with the engine out of it and a (915) tranny still in it. One day.

    Sweet looking ride indeed. A hand shake still meens alot to some of us up here as well. I've allways lived by the rule...If I have something you need and I don't need it, then if it cost me nothing, it will cost you nothing. And even if it did...hell I would probably give it to you anyway, cuz I can't remeber what I paid for it anyway...lol. Your F-i-l a good man indeed. I'm sure the original owner would agree.

    Rules to live by indeed. I asked the guy what he had it insured for and he said "$130,000!" He said that hood and upgraded motor was a $5,000 move. That thing was sweet in a convertible. He'd done all the work other than the paint since his ownership.
