Cruisin' Caddy and No Key Needed to Drive this Sucker!

In case you care, those towers in the background are the supports for our bridge which has the longest cable-stayed surface in North America. One of the few modern day marvels that came in under budget and ahead of schedule!

And, coincidentally, that's the Caddy dealership on the right.

Note the ignition switch that is not properly aligned..And just noticed, "Look mom, no key at 60 mph (really about 50...)!!!"

Here is a little shot from my recent trip over to Germany. Took this picture while cruising around the Oktoberfest grounds in Munich.



This was at 3 in the afternoon on a Monday!!

Lazarusvan I had a 69 GTO that you had to start with a key but than could pull it out and drive, guess the tumblers were messed up but never fix it, don't remember ever driving it without but knew I could.

My 70 Nova and 2005 van were the same way

the 71 Lemans I drove as a teenager also only needed the key to get it out of the lock position.

Thats how my Wrangler YJ is and most AMC/Jeep products that I have ever driven from the 70's and 80's. I never use a key in my YJ unless I am parking somewhere that I feel the need to lock the rig up. Its nice not having them bounce around all over the steering column or hanging down to my knees. I'm sure that someone could just put a Jeep lock cylinder into pretty much any Saginaw column and achieve the same results.
